For the first time in the 2024-25 season, the Dauphin Kings have tasted defeat.
Getting away with a less than ideal performance on Saturday in a victory against Neepawa, Tuesday did not provide the same result. Dauphin lacked the energy needed and couldn't capitalize or get anything going offensivley in a 2-0 loss against the Winkler Flyers.
Dauphin did outshoot the Flyers 30-20 in the contest; however, a very small percentage of those shots were great chances. Winkler; meanwhile, did a good job of creating some excellent scoring chances which saw them score two goals.
Jayce the 'Ace' Legaarden of Grandview had a beautiful goal when he outlasted a pair of Kings defenders and then fired a shot past Cole Sheffield. Brady Craik's second goal of the season just more than five minutes into the second period was the winner.
Dauphin (4-1) will look to rebound on Friday when they welcome the Portage Terriers to town.
