The Winnipeg Blue Bombers couldn't get much going on Monday in their pre-season opener as they lost to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, 25-12.
In the first of two tuneup games ahead of the regular season, Terry Wilson led the way offensively with 115 yards passing. In his return, Chris Streveler showed signs of brilliance in completing seven of his eight passes for 65 yards. Chris also ran for 25 yards across three carries.
Tyler Adams had four receptions for 61 yards while Johnny Augustine had 27 yards through the air. Sergio Castillo was 2-for-2 on field goals. Trevor Harris was nearly perfect for Saskatchewan, completing seven of nine passes for 123 yards.
Winnipeg led the game 3-0 after 15 minutes before the Green & White outscored them 21-3 in the two middle quarters. In their final pre-season game, Winnipeg will be on home field at Princess Auto Stadium on May 31 as they welcome Calgary to town at 7:30. The team's regular season begins the following week on June 6 when the Montreal Alouettes will be in Winnipeg at 7:30.
