It's not always how you start, it's how you finish. And the Melfort Mustangs caught fire after a slow start to remain perfect at the Centennial Cup.
With Swan River's Bo Eisner on their roster, the Mustangs downed the Sioux Lookout Bombers, 5-3, on Tuesday afternoon. Owen Riffel of Onanole had one goal and one assist in the first period as the Bombers led the Mustangs 2-0 after 20 minutes.
It wasn't to be for the Bombers, who lost their fourth straight game and will now head back home after winning their league title.
Melfort; meanwhile, improves to two regulation wins and one shootout win. That gives them eight points and if they beat Oakville on Wednesday night, they will advance directly to Saturday's semi-final.
