The Battlefords North Stars are on a run that no other team in the country is.

With just two games to go before the Christmas break, Battlefords has still yet to taste defeat in regulation, something no other team in the Canadian Junior Hockey League can say.

With a record of 26-0-2-1, the North Stars lead the La Ronge Ice Wolves by 11 points for first place overall in the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The team most recently put up nine goals in a 9-6 win against the Yorkton Terriers. Battlefords scored six times Thursday against Yorkton in the third period alone.

The team has scored a league-leading 145 goals while giving up a league-low 65. Kian Bell's 49 points (28 goals), Holden Doell's 45 points (15 goals), and Jake Southgate's 44 points (10 goals) are the top-three scorers in the league. Josh Kotai in net has a sparking 1.94 goals-against average to go along with a superb .945 save percentage.

Battlefords is in Melville on Friday before wrapping up their pre-Christmas schedule on Saturday in Yorkton. Combined, Yorkton and Melville have just 21 wins this year.
