The Dauphin Clippers varsity boys basketball team kicked off their season over the weekend and it was a great start.
Playing in the Sanford Early Cat tournament, the team won three of their four games to claim the B-side championship. After an opening loss against a very solid St. Maurice team, the Clippers cruised to three straight wins.
They would down Grandview/Gilbert Plains, 83-65 and they followed that up with a massive 47-point win against Stonewall. Dauphin then beat the host team, 49-38, to win the B-side final.
Nick Hudyma was named the B-side most valuable player while Cody Adcock was named a tournament all-star. Next up for Dauphin is the Sun Spartan Invitational in Brandon this weekend.
