The Dauphin Kings put a strong effort forward but a bad bounce in overtime ended up doing them in as they lost 3-2 to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in game one of their best of three MJHL Survivor Series Thursday night.
George Splichal had the game winner 3:55 into the extra frame following a bad bounce at the Wayway blueline. He went up the ice on a breakaway and backhanded the puck over Connor Shaw’s (0-1) right pad.
Before the goal the Kings were controlling overtime and had numerous chances to end it, including a couple by Mathieu Lapointe. During regulation the Kings were strong as well. The first period they were very good, and out shot the Wolverines 11-4. Total shots Thursday were 33-29 for Wayway.
