A mass shooting in Toronto last night ended with 13 people injured and two dead, including the suspected gunman.
Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders says the shooter was armed with a pistol and exchanged fire with police in the city's bustling Greektown neighbourhood.
The gunman died at the scene, but Saunders couldn't confirm whether he was hit by police gunfire or took his own life.
A woman was killed in the shooting, while a nine-year-old girl who was among the injured was rushed to a pediatric trauma centre in critical condition.
No names have been released and police say they're not ready to talk about a possible motive at this early point in the investigation

Yesterday's storm brought tornados through some areas of Manitoba
A major thunderstorm across the province led to a tornado touching down near Lake of the Prairies yesterday afternoon
The Waterspout stayed on the lake, and thankfully no inuries or damages have been reported
Enviornment Canada is not aware of any other tornadoes in Manitoba yesterday, but other parts of the province did get thunderstorms, some of which produced quarter sized hail.
It passed by the Pyotts West Campground, located south of the community on the south shore of Lake of the Prairies.

You can help one road tripping Manitoba family and Dauphin win a party.
The MaCauley family traveled to Dauphin as part of Chevrolet’s ‘Most Road Trippable Town in Canada’ contest.
The family took a car provided by the company and traveled across Manitoba and shared their experience on Instagram and on YouTube.
According to Alyson Sametz, the marketing director for Dean Cooley GM in Dauphin says the family ended their big trip here in Dauphin.
A one-minute long video was produced that included all the experiences of their trip and now it’s part of the contest.
The family needs the most views on their video to win the contest.

10 to 15 women have the chance to be empowered with business skills and develop employment experiences.
Dauphin Neighborhood Renewal Corporation’s Unity Project Women’s Maker Co-operative is a social enterprise to help women who face challenges.
Mary Myhre with Dauphin Neighborhood Renewal spoke with us about how the co-operate will help participants and how it’s set up.
“We’re planning a couple of sessions with a career coach who will speak with our participants about setting goals, building resumes and other inspiring topics.” She continues, “The project and the point of social enterprise is that it’s sustainable. We purchase the equipment; sell the products, generating enough income to buy more materials all the while developing skills, capacity, and wellbeing to our participants.”
The women will create artisan products and then take them to local sales, like the Christmas Craft Sale at the Watson Art Centre. At these sales they will get experience in marketing, making change, and customer service.
“We’re planning to empower women, combat social isolation, and build networks and skills. We want to have some local female business leaders come forward to offer mentorship and share their stories and experience in business.”
DNRC received $29,108 for the project from the Provincial government.

The Gilbert Plains-Grandview Ag Society Fair and Rodeo starts today.
This year the society decided to focus on bringing bigger entertainment for the whole family.
“We’re trying to get a few more things that will draw in some more families so that they can come in and have a good weekend, “said Krista Gaber, an organizer.
There are some big changes to make note of.
“We’re doing something different this year. We’re trying the rodeo on Friday night. It’ll start at 7 o’clock for the Heartland Rodeo. At halftime, we’ve got pony races for the kids which are always a huge crowd pleaser, lots of fun entertainment there.”
Gaber shares some of the new attractions they’ve brought in.
“We’re just trying to get some different inflatable equipment in and stuff like that. Stuff for kids that are a little bit older as well and sure adults can go on, the hippo-chow-down and the Warrior Dome and stuff like that. And bumper Cars, of course, that’s always a big attraction.”
The rodeo features 3 days of excitement with some of the best cowboys on the Canadian rodeo circuit.
It’s the 120th annual fair taking place at the Gilbert Plains Fair and Rodeo Grounds.

Manitoba Public Insurance wants to make people aware of the dangers of driving while tired.
In a poll conducted by Manitoba Public Insurance, almost half of the respondents said they drove while drowsy at least once. This includes feeling drowsy while driving on a long trip, during the day or at night.
On average, 83 crashes each year are related to some form of driver fatigue, according to MPI data. Over the 10 year period from 2007 to 2016, around seven of these collisions result in a fatality or serious injury annually.
MPI says it’s important that drivers remember to build in time for frequent breaks to make sure you get to your destination safely.
Drivers should build in time for potential travel delays due to severe weather, traffic congestion or road construction.
Some fatigue warning symptoms to watch for while driving:
- •can't stop yawning
- •have trouble keeping your eyes open
- •can't remember the last few kilometers you've driven
- •car starts drifting within your lane
- •unable to concentrate and find that your thoughts wander

Road work is getting ready to start and traffic speed is reducing.
Starting from around the Keld intersection, construction signs are have been set up.
This morning it was reported that traffic was slow around the area leading to the Dauphin Bypass.

Through community development programs such as Community Places, Partner 4 Growth, and Hometown Manitoba, the government is providing $90,391.

A 31 year old is dead after a single-vehicle rollover near Sandy Bay First Nation.
Around 8:20 last night police responded to the accident near the community.
A 39 year old man lost control and rolled his mini-van when he was driving west on Beach Road. He sustained serious injuries and was brought to hospital.
A 31 year old passenger was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Another passenger, also 31 sustained minor injuries.
All three are from Sandy Bay First Nation.
Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the collision. Police believe that nobody inside the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
The investigation is ongoing.

RCMP say a pedestrian from Ebb and Flow First Nation was struck and killed by a car.
At around 11:50 last night the 19 year old woman was crossing the highway when she was struck by a car travelling northbound.
She was pronounced deceased on scene.
The 52 year old male driver from the RM of Ste. Rose was not hurt.
Alcohol isnt believed to be a factor in the collision.
The investigation is continuing with the assistance of a collision analyst.
