The snow trails may be closed, but snowmobilers still get out on their machines during the winter.
George Carriere, president of the Dauphin and District Snowmobile Club, offers a few key safety tips to riders this season.
"The biggest thing is to ride sober, ride for the conditions, reduce your speed, and be alert. There isn't a lot of snow and there are probably things hidden under the little bit of snow that we have that aren't safe. So the main thing is to be very cautious."
Carriere also says the key to opening the trailers sooner than later is for more snow to fall in the Parkland.
