The cost of some city rates are going up in the New Year.
At the most recent city council meeting, council passed their Prescribe Fees, Fines, and Charges for Municipal Services Bylaw. Assistant CAO, Sharla Griffiths talks about the major change this year.
“The biggest change would be our landfill rates. We did increase several minimum charges per tonne charges.”
The average cost per tonne of standard household waste is set at 65. This bylaw comes into effect January 1st, 2018
