Post-secondary students could be facing higher tuition fees for education.

Bill 31 was debated this week in the Manitoba Legislature after being introduced back in March.

The bill calls for up to a 5% increase on university tuition fees and could double in the next 10 to 12 years.

The province is also eliminating the Manitoba Tuition Fee Income Tax Rebate, which allowed students to claim up to 60% of eligible tuition fees.
