Last night the fire department in Waterhen responded to alarms going off at the school.
Chief Super Intendant for Frontier School Division Reg Klassen has more details on what happened.
"It looks like they used something to start the fire on our gym, our cameras did not pick up anything because that was a blind spot (which perhaps the vandals knew) we are looking at other cameras and have already dispatched a remediation team to do a assessment of the damage so we can have it repaired."
Klassen also said that this damage will not affect when the school year starts.
