Parks Day is taking place across Canada Today!

In Riding Mounting National Park today is full of different events from hiking to Grey Owl’s Cabin, a learn to fish program, and a Twilight Bio blitz focusing on the Bats of Riding Mountain.
Cal Martin acting visitor experience manager at the park talks about experiencing what the park has to offer.

“Parks Day is an annual event, and it takes place the 3rd Saturday of July each year, and at Riding Mountain National Park we’ve been celebrating Parks Day since 1990. Most of our activities are occurring in and around the Wasagaming area and sort of the Clear Lake area. But we encourage people to get out and explore all the different areas of the park especially this year with the free entry.”

The Riding Mountain Film festival and Buskers are just some of the entertainment at the Park. A hike to Grew Owl’s cabin is another event taking place from 9 until 3. The Twilight Bio Blitz, where people try and find as many bats as they can, takes place from 8:30 pm until 10:45 pm.
