The RCMP spent the weekend enforcing traffic enforcement as well as Manitoba Public Insurance sponsored checkstop to ensure safety.



On June 29, officers noted a vehicle driving on Highway 10, in line for Countryfest, with its passenger door open.

The driver, an 18-year-old Winnipeg woman showed signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving.

Other traffic enforcement resulted in numerous charges under the Highway Traffic Act: 40 for speeding, 2 for failing to wear a seatbelt, and 39 for other offences.

“This year was pretty much comparable to other years,” noted Constable Rob Tuff.  “Whereas the numbers for calls for service to site as well as the traffic enforcement that was done in the area.”

Overall the numbers are comparable to other years for this weekend.
