The Manitoba government is bumping up education funding for K-12 schools by one per cent, but how that's allocated to individual divisions may look a little different.

Donna Davidson says there are a number of factors in an intense funding formula.

"We will receive exactly what dollars will be allocated to Mountain View School Division based on our school data. Based on our student enrolment, based on the programs we offer, based on our assessment... based on our special needs, based on our transportation requirements, (the) senior years technology program."

The Manitoba government yesterday announced funding for kingergarten to grade 12 education would go up $13.1-million, sustaining the overall budget at more than $1.3-billion per year.
