A music man from Gilbert Plains is back to perform at a Christmas service at the community's United Church.

Choir leader Linda McNabb says Jeffrey Manchur is home to visit family with his wife, Kimberly.

McNabb says he used to play organ for the choir; he's become a somewhat more decorated musician since then.

"Now Jeff has his Doctor in Musical Arts degree in piano performance, and he's currently teaching at the Bowling Green University and at the Toledo Symphony School of Music, so we're very proud of Jeff, our own local talent that's gone this far."

Jeffrey and Kimberly, who herself has a Masters of Music degree in Voice performance, will be part of the church choir's musical performance of the journey to Bethlehem, tomorrow night beginning at 9.

McNabb says they're having their first and only full-team rehearsal today.
