The Dauphin Fire Department has barely had a chance to sit down today.

After being called to a minor vehicle collision this morning, the DFD was sent to a grass fire about three and a half miles north of the city.

Fire chief Cam Abrey says it was a small incident, but flames were approaching a home so the owner called for assistance.

Around 1:30 this afternoon, the DFD was called to another grass fire, this one in the Eclipse. One person who was trying to contain the blaze before firefighters arrived was treated for exhaustion.

Crews were later sent to a report of a residential fire alarm, which turned out to be a minor cooking incident.
