Today is the day for Chase the Chill in Dauphin.

Courtesy of the 'Sip and Stitch' group at the Dauphin Multi Purpose Senior Center, hand-knitted mittens, hats, toques and scarfs have been placed throughout CN Park in Dauphin.

These items are free for anyone who is in need of some warm winter clothing.

The senior center also happily accepted some donations to give away as well.

Program Coordinator at the Senior Center Kim Armstrong hopes this will give people who are in need, another way of staying warm.

"Individuals who do not like the stigma that is attached to going to the food bank or to Parkland Crossing, they're able to go and get warm items with no strings attached."

The clothes that are not taken by the end of the day will be given to the local food bank and Parkland Crossing.
