Farmers in the province that have been unable to harvest their 2016 crop may be eligible for a cash advance.

Canadian Canola Growers Association will be accepting new seeded cash advance applications until March 2017.

Director of Finance and Operations at CCGA, Dave Gallant says they've been working alongside the federal government.

"Normally farmers can apply for grain that's in the field up to August the 31st, and after that point we as administrators are limited to only providing advances for grain that's in the bin... we've been working with Ottawa through the weather crisis that's happened throughout Western Canada to work out a way to allow farmers who still have grain in the field and have not already got their cash advance to still get access to the program."

The Advance Payments Program is a federal loan guarantee program, which provides agricultural producers with access to low-interest cash advances.
