The American populous has elected their 45th President.
The announcement was made early this morning, as Republican nominee Donald Trump sealed the win after capturing Wisconsin's 10 electoral votes, which put him over the threshold of the 270 he needed.
MP for Dauphin-Swan River-Neepawa Robert Sopuck, feels Trump's victory has similar resemblances to another controversial decision that was made a few months ago.
"I think the parallels between the Trump victory and Brexit are exactly perfect... at some point and again I think I represent a constituency where people work hard, they play by the rules, they are good honest folk who produce for this country, and at some point people like that have had enough."
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also spoke out about the decision, saying Canada looks forward to working very closely with US president- elect Donald Trump in the future on issues including trade, investment, international peace and security.
