Talks about Whitmore School continue at Mountain View School Division.
Last night at the board's general meeting, MVSD said a liability of $60,000 needed to be established to deal with fuel tanks identified on two school properties, as required by the board's accounting guidelines.
Secretary-Treasurer for MVSD, Bart Michaleski feels the estimate for Whitmore School is a reasonable reflection in handling the situation.
"We feel that estimate is reflective of the cost in remediation, some of that we've done already... the tank removal we've spent probably about $20,000 already."
The establishment of the liability will assign the cost of the tank removals to the 2015-16 fiscal year.
