Strong winds across Southern Manitoba caused a number of sporadic outages today.

Manitoba Hydro said specific areas in the region were affected, with certain customers briefly losing power.

Public Affairs Officer for Manitoba Hydro, Bruce Owen says the outages weren't widespread.

"I'm going to describe it as sporadic outages, it wasn't widespread... the information I have at this point is customers in Oakville, Elm Creek, in the Stonewall area and even north of Selkirk in the Victoria Beach / Grand Beach areas did experience outages."

Owen later added, based on his information all customers in the areas previously mentioned have power and are currently back in service.
