Dauphin's ECHO III Grand-Opens on Day it Hits Capacity

A new transitional housing unit in Dauphin is already full.

CMHA Parkland regional director Marvin Fried says ECHO 3 in Dauphin is at capacity as of yesterday.

"We kept one suite available for viewing and every other suite is full and we're already starting a waiting list, so that's how quick things are moving."

A grand opening was held at ECHO 3 yesterday. The building actually opened in June.

Kennedy and Fleury Upset Graham James Granted Parole

A decision to grant convicted sex offender Graham James full parole has sparked outrage from some of the players he abused when he was a coach with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League.

Victims' rights advocate Sheldon Kennedy, a former NHLer who was abused by James in his junior days, tweeted that his thoughts were with the victims.

Ex-NHL star Theo Fleury, another of James' sexual targets, says the ruling proves Canada is a Disneyland for pedophiles.

Winnipeg Company Posts Bulletin of Customer's Outstanding Bill

A Winnipeg flooring company tried a little public shaming to get a customer to pay his outstanding $1,100 bill.

Curtis Rossow of River Park Flooring put up a billboard this week naming the man, how much he owed for flooring work done, and the words "Not Cool.''

Rossow says public reaction to his billboard announcement has been mixed -- but he adds the pressure tactic appears to have worked since the customer showed up yesterday and paid his bill.
