Affordable housing for Manitoba's Metis is coming to Brandon.
Beginning tomorrow at 12 pm, the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) will be participating in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly built Métis housing triplex.
Minister of Housing for the MMF, Will Goodon says although the program was only designed for five years they are considering expanding it further.
"We feel we need to not only renew the program but to look at expansion... we feel that it is a positive experience, and the need is so great out there that we want to continue to move forward."
The provincial government, through the Manitoba Housing & Renewal Corporation has committed $5.5 million dollars to the program.
