Canada's National Ukrainian Festival won't be the only thing getting the attention of Dauphin's Ukrainian community.
Today, the City of Dauphin will be unveiling a statue dedicated to Ukrainian women.
Assistant Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Dauphin, Melisa Stefaniw says the statue is part of an ongoing series. She added, "These statutes are kind of a an interpretive reflection of our community's culture and heritage... this one is titled Perseverance, it is dedicated to the contributions of Ukrainian pioneer women in Canada."
The statue unveiling will be at 2 this afternoon at City Hall.
