The City of Sunshine's Communities in Bloom is taking a year to re-build.
Dauphin is still participating, this year we're in the non-competitive level, which allows time for some self evaluation so they can be ready for next year's international competition where there is an emphasis on birds, bees, and butterflies.

Chairperson for Communites in Bloom, Patti Eilers says they are still working on the butterfly garden in Vermillion Park.

"We're in the process of preparing the garden bed, making sure that we have invasive weeds under control and that we have a suitable structure for the butterfly garden."

For the international competition, Eilers says their theme will be incorporated with Canada's 150th year and this is the first time they have entered into the international.

This year's colour theme is pink and purple.
