Soybean farmers and agronomists can still sign up for an all-day educational session in Carman this Wednesday.

Laryssa Grenkow, research manager with Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers says it's a good opportunity for both new and experienced soybean growers and agronomists.

"Not only [to] sharpen their soybean scouting skills and learning you know the basics of disease identification and some of the basic agronomic practices you need to know for soybeans, but also kind of [to] take a deeper look at some of the research we're currently conducting."

Grenkow says their second annual SMART Day will build on some of what they looked at last year.

"We do want to showcase all of the research that we support at the Carman research farm, so there will be some field plots to look at...we have some recent research completed looking at how beneficial insects play a role in suppressing aphids in soybeans, and another hot topic this year was also soil erosion."

Agronomists can register for $50. Farmers get in free.
