The Coldest Night of the Year Fundraiser will take to the streets this Saturday at the Dauphin Friendship Center.
This year's proceeds go towards the " Food For Thought Program" something DFC's Jarri Thompson is deeply passionate about.
"It is extremely important. we face a lot of food insecurity in our community, and I'm not sure everyone's aware of that. Myself included, I didn't know how bad it was until I started to work for Food for Thought, and I started talking to those teachers and students"
CNOY's Mission Statement is to support people " experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness" because no one deserves to be left out in the cold.
The Food For Thought Program provides meals for students, ensuring they have the nourishment they need to focus and learn better throughout the day.
Thompson notes that it takes a community to make it work.
"When we get involved when we come together as a community, we're able to spread the money around and it goes that much further"
You can donate online by searching for Dauphin on CNOY.org, and you can show your support at the walk Saturday night, by getting to the Friendship Center for 4 pm.
