Every child deserves the wonder of unwrapping a gift during the holiday season, and the Dauphin Friendship Centre ensures that happens.
Robin Gambler with the DFC has the Angel Tree Program running once again this year.
"The Angel Tree Program has been going on in Dauphin for numerous years. The Friendship Centre took over about 26 years ago. We get people to sit at the tree at the mall, and everyone who applies for a Christmas hamper, if the family hasn't been adopted out, this ensures every child gets a gift."
Gambler is always amazed at the giving spirit of Dauphin, both on the table and under the tree.
"you know what? Dauphin is amazing. Toward the Food Bank, towards the angel tree, towards all of our Christmas hampers, they're very generous. there's not always someone sitting at the tree, and people are making sure they're bringing numerous gifts to the friendship center and I store them and get them ready for next week."
There is still time to volunteer and get gifts in. A signup sheet is available at the tree, and the DFC to volunteer your time, and both locations accept gifts.
Gambler wants to send out her sincere thanks to everyone who contributed.
Giving a gift for a family that needs it spreads an immense amount of holiday cheer.
