The province is giving caregivers in Manitoba an hourly wage increase.
The $35-million Caregiver Wage Support Program will give health-care aides, housekeeping staff, direct service workers, and recreation workers an extra $5 per hour for a period of two months.
To qualify for the benefit, workers must earn a regular wage of $25 per hour or less.
The program will also support workplaces that are low on staff due to positive cases of COVID-19.
