Manitoba’s police watchdog is investigating allegations of assault by an off-duty Manitoba First Nations Police Service (MFNPS) officer in Portage la Prairie.
On Wednesday, November 4, RCMP responded to a call regarding an assault on Oxford Street in Portage.
Officers located an off-duty MFNPS officer, who was later placed under arrest and taken to the detachment for further investigation.
RCMP reported the incident to the Independent Investigations Unit (IIU), which will be conducting an investigation.
