"It's a great feeling," said Mark Hadway, Coach of the team. "Playing in the Provincials will be the first crack for the boys, and they've been waiting for it, so it's definitely really special."

The team lost their first game of the qualifier to team Stephen. They then dropped to the B-Side and thumped team Meyn, 8-2 which set up another game with Stephen with a berth on the line, and the foursome from Dauphin got redemption in beating Stephen, 9-5.

"We didn't make it the easy way," said Hadway. "But the guys stayed together, battled and got it done."

Now that the foursome has qualified for Provincials, they will go up against 15 of the best teams in the Province.

"Our expectations are just to start with game one, get the nerves out of the way and get through all the excitement," said Hadway. "We're going to be playing on Arena ice for some of the games. So if we get that first win, we'll reset, and go for another one."

This past weekend wasn't the first high-pressure game for the team, who lost in the High School Provincial Championship Final last year."

"Our confidence level this past weekend was high," said Hadway. "Losing in the finals last year helped us for sure. There were some nerves, but the guys really played through them and played with confidence."

The Provincials are December 26-31, 2017.
