The province is paying for two thirds -- up to $10,000 -- of a warming shelter at Dauphin's CN station, provided it's completed before 2017.
The shelter was supposed to be finished already but now the city is shooting for the end of the year.
Mayor Eric Irwin is confident they will meet that timeline.
"The province is in for two thirds up to ten grand so if it didn't get done we would blow off some portion of $10,000, but we're confident we can get it done."
The shelter was originally planned to be finished by the end of September.
