This year's recipient of the Parkland Region Distinguished Alumni Award is Lori Bicklmeier. The award is presented annually to a graduate of the college living in the Parkland region who has distinguished themselves in both their chosen profession and their community. Lori works at the Dauphin Friendship Centre as the Coordinator of the Dauphin At Risk Teen (DART) program. She maintained the role with the DART program while still attending evening classes at ACC's Applied Counselling Skills program in 2011. 

The Parkland Region Community Service Award recognizes a graduate of ACC, living in the Parkland, region who has positively impacted the quality of people's lives through the service of others. Lloyd Hudson is this year's recipient. Lloyd attended ACC in Dauphin where he graduated from the Business Administration program in 1990. Lloyd has volunteered for many organizations in Dauphin for over 40 years, including two terms as Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Business Administration instructor, David Simmonds is this year's recipient of the Parkland Region Excellence in Teaching Award. Simmonds has been an instructor at the college's Parkland Campus since 1990. Besides teaching a full course load David finds the time to actively participate in many college committees such as the Alumni Association, Awards Committee, College Council and the Students' Association.

 
Lisa Huston, alumni relations coordinator at ACC says that they are not only honoring the winners, they are honoring the ACC story by having these alumni awards.
 
"It is our way of being able to recognize the success and achievements of our alumni from the college. So you know, it''s something that is really important to us. I think it's important for the Parkland community, the Brandon community. Everywhere that ACC touches."
