Countryfest is one of the things that puts Dauphin on the map. For a town of just over 8,000, we know how to put on a good show.

Last Friday, they announced next year's set of headliners: Countryfest favourite Nate Smith, whose set was rained out last year, Kip Moore, a returning voice from back in 2013, and Riley Green, who will be fresh off performing at this year's Grey Cup. Natalie Haslund with Countryfest's Programming Committee said bringing back Nate Smith will help to further cement his status as a Countryfest legend, for practically having to be dragged off stage last year during a thunderstorm.

"Nate Smith, when he got dragged off stage last year and he couldn't finish, we definitely said we had to bring him back," said Haslund.

Plus, new this year, they'll have a Canada Day Kick-Off Party on Thursday, turning the usual 3-day weekend festival into a 4-day party, featuring a Canada Day lineup headlined by one of the biggest names in Canadian music.

"We're gonna have a special Canada Day celebration, and we're gonna kick it off with a big Canadian rock act, gonna be a bit of a rock day, and we're gonna have the Barenaked Ladies, they're gonna be playing that night," said Duane McMaster, Countryfest, President.

Members Only ticket sales closed Wednesday night at midnight, and as of that point both Tier 1 VIP Bar tickets and Tier 1 VIP Bar Seated tickets were sold out, though Tier 2 tickets will be available. Plus, 95% of Tier 1 General Admission tickets are sold - so if you want the best price, act fast! Tickets are on sale to the general public as of 10:00 AM this morning.
