The construction of the City of Dauphin's new daycare, Prairie Park Place Early Learning Centre, is coming along well, with completion expected sometime next summer.
In a Facebook post, the City of Dauphin said the foundation of the building is now complete, exterior walls are built, and both water and sewer connections have been installed. Next on the list is bringing electrical services and natural gas to the building, and to close it off before winter.
Once built, Prairie Park Place Early Learning Centre is set to have 120 licensed child care spaces for families in Dauphin and the area. The daycare has been a topic of discussion in Dauphin for a while, as it's been planned for years.
The City says construction is on track to be completed in July 2027, with the centre expected to open in Fall 2027.
