A 30-year-old from Valley River First Nation is charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after a road rage incident in Dauphin.
On Tuesday at 6:20, a 31-year-old man was waiting at a four-way stop when the 30-year-old, driving an SUV, pulled up beside him. He pulled out a knife and made gestures that he was going to open his door. The 31-year-old left the scene.
Not long after, the same SUV was involved in another incident on the 1400-block of Main Street South. The 30-year-old, Dylan Smith, got out of his vehicle and acted erratically towards people in another vehicle. He then returned to his vehicle and was seen travelling to a hotel.
At about 7:00 p.m., he was located and arrested inside the hotel.
He was released with a future court date.
