An 18 year old from Yorkton is facing terrorism charges, after the RCMP's National Security Team say they posted online content as a member of 764, a listed terrorist entity in Canada. Specifically, the charges are participating in the activity of a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity, and two counts of committing an offence for a terrorist group.
For terrorist charges to be laid against someone, attorney general consent is needed.
764 is an online multinational network of predators, whose members coerce kids into self-harm, sexual abuse, and torturing animals. The group was added to Canada's Listed Terrorist Entities in December of last year.
Members will often use online games, like Minecraft and Roblox, to get in contact with unsuspecting kids, and use friendship and love-bombing to desensitize them.
RCMP Superintendent Matthew Johnson says parents should look for warning signs, and make it clear to kids that if they think they've made a mistake online, they won't be punished for being honest.
