The Parkland Chamber of Commerce is set to host several Municipal Election Public Forums in the coming weeks, to give candidates a platform to speak directly with voters, and to answer their questions.
The first Public Forum is taking place next Tuesday, at the Dauphin Active Living Centre. It'll see City of Dauphin candidates get together for conversation and engagement with the community.
"We are doing City of Dauphin forums, so that is going to happen Tuesday, October 13th at the Dauphin Active Living Centre. The doors are going to open at 6:30, the forum will start at 7:00, and we're going to go through the candidates for Councillor, the candidates for Mayor, it's going to be a really good night. We encourage all residents, business owners to come out," said Kamryn Winters, Parkland Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.
The Parkland Chamber of Commerce said it's important for them to hold these forums to make sure Parkland residents have their voices and questions heard by candidates. Winters said the Chamber prefers if you pre-register to attend.
"We do encourage pre-registration, it's free to attend, but if you can pre-register [on our website] that just helps us know what we're expecting for numbers, and if you're interested in submitting a question, you can also head to our website and just click the link when you go and register for the event," said Winters.
