Although still well behind the province-wide average, harvesting operations in the Northwest region did make some progress over the past week.
19 per cent of this year's crop in the Northwest is now in the bin, compared to the 40 per cent average across Manitoba. 
According to the latest Manitoba Agriculture Crop report,  heavy morning dew narrowed the window for harvesting this week.  
Fall rye and winter wheat harvest is now complete, while spring wheat harvest is about 45 per cent wrapped up.
Wheat yields range from slightly below average to above average.  
Field pea harvest is approximately 75 per cent complete, with yields ranging from below average to average.  . 
Canola fields continue to range in stages, with five per cent of this year's crop now in the bin.
And the majority of soybeans are in the R6 to R7 stage, and are looking good, where excess moisture didn’t delay growth this spring.
