It's been months in the making.
That wait is nearly over. After it was postponed earlier this summer, the Parkland Chamber of Commerce Street Fair takes over downtown Dauphin on Friday.
The Fall Edition opens with a pancake breakfast from 8:30 until 11:00 at CN Park. Gary Procyshyn kicks off the entertainment at 12:00 p.m. while Desiree Orvis keeps the party going at 1:00 p.m. FYWSR wraps up the entertainment portion of the event around midnight.
Whether you're five or 85, Kamryn Winters says there's something for everyone.
Come one, come all, the Street Fair & Dance is one of the highlights of the year.
"Yeah, like we have a kids' zone. We're having the bouncy castles, face painting," said Winters. "Bands throughout the day, dancers. It's a huge event. There will be plenty of vendors. Barkland in the Parkland will have a petting zoo. It's going to be great."
Some of the vendors include Dauphin Bible Camp, Westman Communications Group, Dauphin Neighbourhood Renewal, Dauphin's Countryfest, and Guac Mexi Grill.
It's been a tough summer for so many Parkland residents. After July's devastating flood, the cleanup continues for many.
While we can't forget what has happened in the past, Winters said this event is a great chance to come together and celebrate what is to come.
"I think it'll be nice for our community to come together moving forward after the flood," added Winters. "Come and celebrate with the community."
While there is no school during the usual summer Street Fair, Winters doesn't expect attendance to drop for Friday's event, despite school being in session.
"I know kids are going to be in school. I encourage those middle school and high school kids to take a walk and come for lunch," added Winters. "Come take in an artist. After all the kids are done with school, the Kids' Zone will run till 7:00 or 8:00 p.m."
