The First Nations Police Service is actively recruiting new members for the service across multiple communities in the Parklands area.
Inspector of Support Services Derek Beach says that the number of communities they serve is always expanding.
"We are currently in 12 communities, but communities are always reaching out to us to be their policing service," Beach said.
He also says that the First Nations police service is always looking for recruits who want to be a part of those communities.
"We want our officers not only to enhance community safety, but we want our officers to be a part of the communities, know the traditions of the communities, and work with community members to deliver enhanced safety in every community" Beech said.
Aside from the opportunity to serve their communities, Beech said there are other good reasons for recruits to begin training with the service.
"We offer some great training. We offer accommodations for our recruits, meals for our recruits, and we give them a training allowance while they're training for us," Beech said.
