Swan River Town council continued its lobbying efforts with the province last week with regards to several highway improvement projects in the Swan Valley.
They met with provincial Transportation and Infrastructure minister Lisa Naylor, with the intersection of highways 10 and 83 among the major topics of discussion.
Plans originally called for a round about at that intersection, but council has stated recently that they are against that plan.
Naylor informed council that the plan is going back to the drawing board and that alternative options will be looked at.
The province also committed to a traffic count on Main Street this summer to help determine pedestrian safety needs, as well as a site visit in May to look at resurfacing needs along Main Street and along the community's highway entrances.
They also stated that upgrades to the Ditch Road renewal project are still in the province's five year capital plan.
