The club is once again in Winkler to play the Flyers after a 5-2 loss against them last night. Tonight's game is the clubs final road contest of 2019 and they play four total games before the Christmas break.

Dauphin outshot Winkler last night and had several top-notch chances, but they just couldn't beat Dorrin Luding.

The Kings are three points behind Winkler for fifth place entering the contest. Nakodan Greyeyes continues to lead Dauphin with 50 points, but he won't play tonight.

Dauphin's top line of Baron Thompson, Grady Hobbs, and Carter Sawchuk produced both of the Kings goals last night.

Darnell Duff will have the broadcast beginning with the pregame show at 7:15.

The Dauphin Kings scored first tonight, but they couldn’t get much else going in a 5-2 loss against Winkler.

Playing in their second last road game before 2020, Baron Thompson put Dauphin up 1-0.

Winkler would then score three straight to take a 3-1 lead and it stayed that way until the third.

In the final frame, Cole Dekoninck put Dauphin back in the game with a goal just 6:02 in the period.

In the end, that’s as close as they would get. Winkler scored two straight to win 5-2.

The two teams will meet tomorrow night and Darnell Duff will have the broadcast at 7:15.

Matthew Zurba was an “AP” call up for the Dauphin Clippers tonight and he quickly showed what he can do.

After a solid performance at the Vic Inn tournament in Brandon, the Dauphin Clippers are back at it tonight. They welcome the Minnedosa-Erickson Chancellors to town. Dauphin finished in third place in the highly competitive tournament in Brandon.

They also had a great game against the Garden City Fighting Gophers who are one of the best teams in the province.

"I think the guys played well in the tournament. It's a lot of hockey to play in a short period of time," said Rick Freese. "It's nice to see some different teams and come up against different styles of play."

"Against Garden City, that was a game full of special teams play. They scored three power-play goals and we scored one," he added. "It was nice to see how we stacked up against a top team. I was pretty happy with our showing."

Although they weren't the favourites against Garden City, Dauphin will be the favourites tonight as they return to play in the Westman High School Hockey League. At 8-0-1-1, Dauphin leads the North Division by four points over Swan Valley.

They are, however, coming off a loss in their last league game. They dropped a 5-4 overtime decision against Major Pratt last Wednesday.

"We haven't seen Minnedosa this year so we don't know much about them. Regardless, we have to be ready to battle against any team we're playing," continued Freese. "We have a few more games before Christmas and we're looking to get on a little bit of a winning streak before we enter play in 2020."

Tonight's game at Credit Union Place is set for 7:30. Minnedosa comes into the game at 3-5-1.

Their game against Minnedosa will also mark the start of a very busy next 10 days. Including tonight's tilt, Dauphin will play five games through December 21 when they enter the Christmas break. Next Friday's game is set for 12:30 at Credit Union Place as it's the Clippers Christmas game against Neepawa.

Dauphin begins their 2020 league play on Monday, January 13 in Ste. Rose as they play McCreary.

Head Coach Mike O’Shea isn’t going anywhere. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed him to a contract that will run through the 2022 season.

In the last four years, Mike has led the team to a 44-28 record.

Winnipeg has also announced that they have reached an agreement on an extension for General Manager Kyle Walters.
