It was a dream start for the Parkland U18 Rangers earlier today, however, they couldn't sustain it.

Taggert Plouffe scored once, Steven Arp tallied two goals while Garrett Hrechka had one as the Rangers jumped out to a 4-0 lead and they led 4-1 after 20.

The Central Plains Capitals scored four straight to take a 5-4 lead into the third.

Parkland would tie it late in the third, but the Capitals scored the game-winner with just less than three minutes left as they skated off with a 6-5 win.

The Rangers are now five points back of a playoff spot. They play in Carberry on Friday and in Swan River next Sunday.

The Dauphin Clippers varsity girls basketball team put together a solid weekend.

In the end, Dauphin beat Neepawa, 49-40, to win a bronze medal.

Dauphin also beat Gladstone in their first game before falling to Neelin in their second game.

Three new players will be in lineup when the Dauphin Kings hit the ice tonight.

Levi Mitchell and Colby Jaquet both came over from the Selkirk Steelers prior to Friday’s deadline.

The team has also added Kaden Bryant. He started the season with the Sherwood Park Crusaders where he had nine points.

Dauphin enters tonight’s game seven points behind Virden in the standings. It’s also the second of two meetings in the past week between the teams.

Back on Tuesday, the Oil Capitals beat Dauphin.

Darnell Duff will have the pregame show tonight starting at 6:45.

The Parkland U18 Rangers outshot Interlake tonight, but they couldn't secure any points.

In a game where they fired 35 shots, the Rangers dropped a 3-1 game.

Jayce Legaarden scored Parkland's lone goal in the game.

The Rangers play Central Plains on Sunday afternoon inside Credit Union Place. A win would see them sit one point behind the Capitals for the final playoff spot.

The Dauphin Clippers hockey team came home after a fourth-place finish in the Piper Classic in Winnipeg.

Playing in the bronze medal game, the Clippers lost to the CJS Olympiens from Winnipeg.

Dauphin still won a couple of games at the tournament and they played well against the River East Kodiaks who are the top team in the province.

Yesterday was a great day in Winnipeg for a few members of the Parkland Bantam Rangers program.

Kyan Grouette, Carter Zalischuk, Will Munro, Brayden Dube, Aiden Ziprick, and Tom White all represented the Parkland region at the AAA All-Star Game.

Prior to the game, Grouette won the rapid fire contest while Zalischuk won the puck control contest.

In the game, Team Army fell short, 6-2, but Ranger players contributed on both goals.

The team as a whole plays the Winnipeg Hawks today.

The Dauphin Clippers junior varsity girls basketball team is coming home from Brandon with a championship trophy.

The team had a fantastic week en route to winning all three of their games and a title in the process.

In the final, Tazz Genik had two three pointers and 19 points total in a 73-12 win against the Vincent Massey grade 9 team.

Prior to the finals, Maddie Amyotte was the Player of the Game in their first game as they beat Vincent Massey, 64-42. She also had 19 points.

In the semifinals, Cali Hudyma had 10 points as Dauphin beat Crocus Plains, 53-45.

The Dauphin Clippers varsity boys basketball team are the fifth ranked team in the province and they’re champions again. 

They beat Morden to complete a perfect weekend as they hosted their home tournament.

Dauphin also beat Ebb & Flow and Norway House on their way to winning a title, the team’s second of the season.

It’s a big day for the Parkland u18 rangers as they return to the ice.

They’ll welcome the Interlake Lightning to town. 

Parkland is currently one point back of a playoff spot, while Interlake is just one point back of the Rangers.

When the two teams last met prior to Christmas, Parkland won 5-2.

Gametime at Credit Union Place is set for 7:30.

The Dauphin Super 8 Bantam Kings are rolling in Souris.

Playing in the Tournament of Champions, the Kings are 2-0 after day one and they’re playoff bound.

They opened things with a huge 9-1 win against Virden and then they beat Lord Selkirk, 6-0.

The team is now playing in the quarterfinals.

The Dauphin Clippers hockey team rolled all over the host John Taylor Pipers in Winnipeg.

After a win over Sturgeon Heights in the morning, Dauphin dispatched of John Taylor, 6-1.

Seth Masson and Keanu Woodhouse had Dauphin up 2-0 after 20 minutes.

Matt Boguski, Brady Dyck, Brayden Broome, and Logan Storey scored the rest of the way. 

They will now play River East in the semifinals. The Kodiaks are the number one ranked team in the province.
