The Parkland Rangers have announced who their new Assistant Coach will be for the upcoming season, which kicks off on September 8, against Yorkton in an exhibition.

Tom White, who has over 20 years of experience coaching hockey will join the team as the Assistant Coach to Brad Dupasquier.

“It’s special to me that’s for sure,” said White. “The Parkland area is starting to put their self-back on the map with kids getting drafted, whether it be the MJHL, or WHL or NHL. It’s happened quite a bit here in the last few years.”

White has been coaching the AAA Bantam Parkland team for the past two seasons, and notes he just wanted to make the next step.

“I like players to be very disciplined,” said White. “I like the details of the game, so I expect them to pay particular attention to details. Overall, I just like them to go out there, and compete as hard as they can.

Tom has also assisted in the delivery of Hockey Manitoba development programs such as Future Stars, Rising Stars Plus, and Directors Cup.

Tom will replace Dallas Drysdale, who has moved out of the region.
