The Gilbert Plains Country Club hosted their first Grand Plains Celebrity Golf Classic.

For a first year tournament the club had quite the turnout, with 112 golfers registering to play.

According to course General Manager and pro Scott McCallum, it's going to become an annual fixture at the course.

The team of Brad Fowler, James Caron, Debron Jakeman, and Tim Williams, aided by celebrity golfers Jeff Stoughton and Josh Crabb won the day. Tim Williams also had a shot closest to the pin on the 4th green, his shot landing 46 inches away from the cup.

Scott McCallum, Gene Turk, Scott Snitka, and Chad Facey came second. While the team of Jim Winfield, Lyle Morran, Jason Shoemaker, and Drew Morran earned the distinction of the most honest golfers.

Elsewhere in the Parkland, Brett Janz was crowned the champion at the Roblin Golf and Country Club. They were holding their 33rd annual Moonshine Daze Men's Open golf tournament. Janz was the best golfer through two days of competition.

The Dauphin Lake Golf Resort treated the 94 participants at the 30th Annual Sander Cup golf tournament well. The tournament put on by the Royal Canadian Legion Dauphin Branch #20 is a slightly different format, the winner is drawn from a hat at the end of the round. The George Fisher team were the lucky ones selected to be the 30th installment on the Sander Cup.
