For the first time since 2013, a member of the Dauphin Kings has been named the Manitoba Junior Hockey League's Most Valuable Player. With his 69 points, Grady Hobbs has won the Steve 'Boomer' Hawrysh Award.

He's the first King to do so since Guillaume Naud did in 2013 and Shane Luke did previously to that in 2011. Hobbs has enjoyed a career year this season with his 69 points in just 55 games and he's second in the league's scoring race, only behind Mikol Sartor who was a finalist.

During his time with Dauphin, Grady has played in 223 games which are third-most all-time in Dauphin's history. In those contests, he's scored 63 goals and has 136 points total. Grady will be recognized in one of the team's remaining home games.

The next home game is tonight when the team welcomes the Portage Terriers to Credit Union Place.
