The event will take place Saturday April 4th at 7:00pm in the Curling Rink at the Parkland Rec Complex.

Along with great food from Irving's Catering (Roast Beef) will be guest speaker, former NHLer Theoren Fleury.

Hubert Carriere is one of the organizers for the Banquet. He says the Stanley Cup Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist will have lots to talk about.

"He's a very knowledgeable guy, he's been around the world in every capacity and we're really looking forward to having him speak at the banquet. He's gonna talk about what it takes to make it to the NHL. Theo was a very small player and everyone said he wouldn't make it and he showed them he could and became one of the best players in the NHL."

Of course the banquet will also see awards given out for the round robin of the tournament.

When it comes to hardware it'll be pretty typical when it comes to the type of awards handed out says Carriere.

"Pretty straight forward. The awards will be the MVP of the tournament, Top forwards, D-man, Goalie and such."

Carriere says they'll be doing something fun with the teams at the end of the event.

"We're trying to lighten things up for the players. We're gonna have a verse from the Stompin' Tom Hockey Song and we're gonna have Theo judge it. Each team will sing a verse and he'll pick a winner."
