The Dauphin Friendship Centre wants to say thank-you for all the community support it's getting for its Food for Thought program.

The Food for Thought program currently leads Cargill's Together We Thrive contest in votes for Manitoba projects.

Food for Thought coordinator Gail Welburn says a thank-you event will be held on Tuesday, June 30, which is the last official day to vote.

"The Friendship Centre is going to be hosting a little event just to say thank you to anyone and everyone who has been involved. Whether you voted, whether you're championing at the office, or whatever it is, we're inviting you to come over. We're going to do some pork on a bun and just have some nice treats, and hopefully everyone that's, you know, going by we're going to stop you on the road and put a bun in your hand because, you know, we're celebrating."

Number of votes received is one of the criteria used by Cargill in determining which projects will receive $25,000.

Welburn says win or lose, it's been a fantastic run.
