The Bank of Canada estimates there may be 60,000 fewer jobs by 2019 due to increases to minimum wages across the country.

A report states that the number of jobs lost was based on a point three percent decline in the number of hours worked.

If the average number of hours worked continues to drop following the increases, the number of jobs lost could be reduced.
